HOMELAND SECURITY SECRETARY Kristi Noem told a preposterous story demonizing immigrants in high-profile public remarks alongside President Donald Trump and on Fox News last summer, about a cannibal who ate other people and then, on his Immigration and Customs Enforcement deportation flight, began to eat himself. At the time, The Intercept was unable to substantiate any part of the tale.

Now, three officials from federal law enforcement agencies — including Noem’s own Department of Homeland Security — with knowledge of the allegations say the entire story was fabricated.

“It is completely false,” said one senior law enforcement official who is familiar with the allegation but not authorized to speak publicly on the subject.

Two other federal law enforcement officials echoed this, telling The Intercept that the claims were ludicrous and that there was no evidence corroborating the story.

Asked for comment, a DHS spokesperson said Noem was simply relaying the claims of an air marshal. “What ‘fabrication’ of the story of the cannibal?” the spokesperson said. “She was told that story on a deportation flight by one of the air marshals.”

She said this as some sort of “gotcha”.

So before we miss the point here …

It is not okay to deport people without due process, even if that person is a cannibal!

This makes more sense if she’s trying to gauge the public response to a cannibalism story before some damning Trumpstein evidence on the topic is released.

Was she the dog killer? I’m losing track of all the MAGA carpet munchers and the insane shit they do. Probably blaming cannibalism to distract from eating the dog that was killed.

They deported Hannibal Lecter. Even though the president said he was a wonderful man and apparently he died.

That explains why the administration wants Greenland. Noem was told on good authority by her grandpa that Santa lives at the North Pole, and now she wants all the presents! It’s a fact, she was told a story!

Some of these people should be in prison or mental hospitals, yet somehow they are leaders of our country.

      Yup.

Narcissism, characterized by an inflated sense of self-importance and a lack of empathy (American Psychiatric Association [APA], 2013), has been a hallmark of numerous political leaders throughout history.

The aphorism “power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely” (Acton, 1887) encapsulates the relationship between politics and egocentrism. Politicians often seek positions of influence to control resources and shape societal structures, which inherently fosters egocentric behavior.

Politicians often operate with a malleable moral compass, disregarding established norms to achieve their objectives.

Radicalism, defined by uncompromising advocacy for change, is another trait commonly observed in politicians.

Trust issues are another hallmark of political psychology. The adversarial nature of politics necessitates a cautious approach to relationships, fostering an environment of suspicion and guardedness.

Contrary to popular perception, patriotism is not always the driving force behind political decisions. Politicians frequently prioritize economic or geopolitical interests over national welfare.

That implies that they were not egocentric before getting into their positions. I think it’s rather that this type of position attracts this type of people and that our society is built in a way that rewards antisocial behaviour, as opposed to the position corrupting the person.

more likely, Noem was reading the Trump-Epstein files and is confusing it with the ICE report.

Ok assuming we find a cannibal, shouldn’t we be locking them up instead of deporting them? They could even try them in a state with the death penalty. I am not sure how she thought this was a win.

Asked for comment, a DHS spokesperson said Noem, much like her boss, is an idiot and was simply relaying the claims of an air marshal. She does not have the cognitive ability to verify information or take things with a grain of salt. “What ‘fabrication’ of the story of the cannibal?” the spokesperson said. “She was told that story on a deportation flight by one of the air marshals and she lapped it up like a cat given a bowl of cream.”

If they had caught a cannibal why would they send them back to their country to be free instead of locking them up so they can’t eat anymore people?!?!

This administration is full of tRump supporters. One cannot trust tRump, nor a tRump supporter. If their willfull ignorance doesn’t get you, their arrogance and greed will.
