Now Americans need to rebel, so Trump can declare martial law.
It’s all going according to his evil plan.
I wouldn’t bet on the midterm elections actually taking place.
I hope good Americans find a way out of this, but the path is getting muddy.

What makes you think Trump needs a real reason to declare martial law? That is going to happen no matter what. The only decision you have left is what you do when its your turn to get shot by ICE: Are you going to comply and take three in the face, or are you going to hit the gas and hope for the best?

This is not just “good americans” this seems to be a coordinated effort to destablise every western country. It will soon be the UK, it will soon be Europe.

I have seen right wing people in the UK saying, “The United States of Greeland” as if somehow, handing it over to the US is in our best interest. The world could genuinely be fucked.

That could absolutely be the smarter way to do it. But I think it would have to be rigged HARD, and that could be a problem, because that could make it to obvious.
Where a declaration of Martial Law could seem more plausible to the average American. Just create a lie big enough as they say.

Look out for the 2nd tier headlines of the past 10 years - Republicans have been busy building this on many levels. And even before that, I mean Florida 2000? Also “too obvious” doesn’t exist anymore in today’s America.

States hold their own elections. He can’t cancel them.

If he tries, the civic contract is dead. No more taxes. No more peaceful protests.

        No more taxes.

I’ve been thinking about this as the orange idiot keeps punishing states he doesn’t like.

We need to rework taxes so that states take federal income tax and hold it in escrow or something so that this kind of shit can’t happen anymore.

And if red states get pissy and start withholding their contributions over gay marriage or something, well, they’re mostly dead weight anyway.

Then good actually, because they’ll starve the beast as well. At this point, a well-funded federal government is a curse.

It will probably go on as all totalitarian regimes go: either a lot of blood and then hopefully freedom again, or Russia Reloaded. The pigs in charge for sure won’t leave anything willingly, you have to hang them by the feet (in a Mussolinian way I mean) if you want to break out of it… Any day spent whining and protesting peacefully is one day closer to the end of democracy and one day less they have to really fight. The moment democracy is being shit on is not on the next Election Day, it’s right now.

I don’t think they will, I have also written many posts that reflect that, I use the same numbers to say two thirds either voted for Trump, or were OK with him winning.
If they weren’t OK with it they would have voted.
So I think a very large portion of the population is actually OK with all the shit that is going on, or they don’t care.
I also think the risk of American democracy ending with Trump is very high.
How high IDK, maybe 20-30% or maybe higher. Certainly not below 20% And that’s an insanely high number for a country that has had democracy since 1789, although it was a very limited democracy, and it is still a deeply flawed democracy.
But still many Americans have trusted the checks and balances, but Trump has shown several times that they don’t work.
And the American population hasn’t shown nearly enough will to do anything to prevent it. And now we are at a point that even if they do, they may be playing directly into Trumps hands.
