I’m a geopolitical hipster, I’ve been hating on Israel and it’s ethno-supremacist genocidal project since 2001, before it was cool to do so.
(in reality my heart warms and welcomes everyone on the side of humanity)
The second intifada woke me up to world politics. My ex was a photo-journalist of Jordanian heritage. She went to Palestine at the time and showed me photos that made me cry even then. To this day, I cannot fathom how Israel maintains such a choke hold on the media and world governments.
The Star of David is a hate symbol, much like the swastika of Nazi Germany.
As in both were perfectly fine religious symbols before they got appropriated by genocidal right-wing governments and now context matters. In that sense you’re right. But only in that sense.
Yeah, that was the point I tried to make clear with the comparison. Israel has forced it a symbol of Jewish supremacy and land thieving genocide. It’s unfortunate for those that don’t align with Israel’s ideology.
Jews In Space! Space! Space!
Note: This is just for fun. Not an endorsement of genocide.
And we will root for the remnants of the republic that was replaced and the rag tag band of freedom fighters?
