huh, i never once considered her special because of her skin colour, it was more so her acts and the thoughts that she verbalised, simply by being human and going above and beyond to help out her fellow humans, and bring attention to their strife. not saying you are incorrect in assuming the core reason of her popularity was due to her skin tone. but id argue (without trying to sound like a dick) that maybe its more about her actions and willingness to use her privilege, while being an autistic person with severe justice sensitivity, that may be the bigger story here.

we dont need to reduce people to their skin colour and privilege in order to find them worthy of our support, and willingness to accept their support in return. and it shouldnt be frustrating that the person helping you or others doesnt look how you want them to.

its not her skin that makes her special, its her mind and how she uses it. perhaps this speaks more about my own views on race, the worlds, or perhaps its speaks more about yours.

when you are blind, wandering in the dark, a helping hand is a helping hand, afterall.

    BUUUUUUT.

if you would like to drop a few names of some other activists with different backgrounds doing good work right now, to bring some light their names, im always down to be inspired. as im sure everyone else in the thread would be as well. :D
