4 and 5 have very different answers depending on race. I’m white, have a Midwestern accent, and was born here. I can look at this person like they’re a moron and ask if they’ve never heard an ohio accent before or what. A Latino born in the same hospital who grew up a town over has to be more diplomatic about explaining that them and their parents were born here.
Similarly a white person naturalized from Australia can be a lot more blase than a brown person naturalized from anywhere.
I’m Chinese American, am naturalized Citizen. Can I pull the “model minority” card? I speak English with no “foreign” accents since I grew up here.
I don’t think theres currently a sterotype of (East) Asian Americans being “criminals”, is there?
That said tho, after Covid, i’m not sure anymore.
