Allow me to update with a personal experience:

“Can I see your ID?”

“Sure, here you go. You know this is bullshit, though. My brake lights aren’t out. Those are parking lights”

“Well now this is happening, get out of the car”

And then I was arrested for suspicion of being under the influence (because I had the gall to talk back to a cop), and my car was impounded for being unfit for the road.

Just to note here - no, I was not under the influence of anything, and my brake lights absolutely were not out. My friend recording audio on his feature phone (because thats how long back this story goes) got the charges dropped, and the goddamn manual in the fucking car proved me right about the damn parking lights.

My local library is about half for under 12, a quarter or the space for teens, and then the last quarter is a split of nonfiction and fiction for adults.

So if you go as an adult without a plan or a request that came in, you may not find much other than the librarians latest rec or the newest additions rack.

For kids though, my local library is incredible. Reading nooks, educational play areas for the little ones, etc. Its wonderful.

My oldest is getting anywhere from 6-8 books a week right now, she’s going into 2nd grade. Libraries are awesome.
