Issue came down to the fact that after the husband caught them, he chose to record the wife in their shared home, which she also had a right to privacy inside even during an affair. Her right to privacy in the home overcame his affirmative defense of needing the recording for evidence in civil litigation.

This is all in Taiwanese court so I have no idea on how rights or laws or court procedure works there, to be fair. So I can’t say if this a precedental ruling or common type of enforcement, or how likely it is to be upheld if appealed. I just hate inflammatory headlines.

Some don’t know, some don’t care, some agree with their actions/opinions.

While it’s important every individual develop and maintain a moral framework, individuals rarely if ever use morality as the sole basis for day to day decisions/actions.

The world just doesn’t operate on a solely moral basis. Some don’t consider the morality of mundane acts, some find the morality of a thing excusable/justifiable when considered, and some come to find their morals agree.

If this is real, it’s honestly very impressive a man spent his entire life in the clergy, genuinely devoting himself to his flock, and still kept up with tech better than his brother, who I think is in finance of some kind?

I feel like I am crazy. Did he not already get called on doing this before and then just said: “I need to because I’m President.”

Aware of the early days of the religion trying to basically declare their sovereignty as a nation but not sure that’s what you’re talking about in context.

I knew they worshipped the same God, but finding out that Islam also affirms the vast majority of the life of Jesus and his place with-in the larger theological framework just makes me infinitely more upset there is nothing small enough humans won’t literally kill each other over it.

He clearly has not accepted that in-group/out-group dynamics always leave potential for you to become part of the out-group, or to have only assumed you’d be in the in-group in the first place. Just thinks Trump messed up by taking HIS partner instead of someone else’s.

My experience with so many people is that even when solidly proven to have held a belief they no longer find suits them, they do not look for a systematic fault in their mental processing models or a larger misunderstanding in their base assumptions of reality to find how it was they were led into false belief. They simply assume it was either a fluke, or that reality does indeed conform to their ideas and just made a mistake this time.

Was honestly very confused how this could have performed quite so terribly until I read there was also a section that would’ve taken away the people’s right to approval of sales tax hikes and that makes a lot more sense.
