what the heck the whole kernel, really?

If you structure voting laws such that you could illegally register or vote, you want this to happen. There is really no reason you would need a fucking third agency checking the legitimacy of votes. Especially since voter fraud has been checked and checked again, so many times recently in the US, and every fucking time it turned out to be less then a nothing burger. Why in the ever-loving fucking fuck would some Immigration and Customs agency EVER (EVER!?) need voter records. It’s a plain violation of the right to vote in privacy.

It’s fuckin’ rotten.

No, because LLMs are all vaccinated.

Not a real fix, but: Ctrl+meta+scrollwheel is the standard zoom function shortcut for me on plasma kde. It’s like the phone trick but faster!

No UI scale slider and being ok with that. It’s not enough options for my system. I get that they want Wayland to do everything for them, but it doesn’t, so I need more. Their stance on this is: no. Same goes when asking for Excel functions. “THIS IS NOT EXCEL” seems to be their standard answer. The weird way they expect you to collaborate on documents. These are just some examples of the vibe they are ok projecting to users. It’s their project, not mine, but it just feels like the users are a nuisance to the Libre Office dev team sometimes.

That’s pretty cool. Makes me think about speaking in ounces locally (NL). “3 ounce of cheese please” will get you 300g. They could ask if they cut it too fat: “mag het een onsje meer zijn?”/“Is it ok if it’s a small ounce more?”

Look up some of your favorite Pokemon names in German. Gave me a couple good laughs, and some mild crying.

Very nice. I have been using open office and Libre Office for more then a decade, but lately the anti user stance the LO team is taking or comfortable in keeping up is draining me. I tried some only office and found some simple things were immediately better (UI scaling/general UX). Interesting to see where they both will land.

We try to say yes to anyone in the family/close circle trying to dump their kids with us. Those are precious free days for the parents, and after having them over for a number of days, I’ll appreciate all that free time coming up even more :)
Hey, I know this one! Oh, there it is: https://www.marriedtothesea.com/index.php?date=012710
Nice, married to the sea has a lot of great comics 😁

I miss the used graphics cards market in the early to mid 00’s in west europe. I could get a very usable graphics card for sub 100 euro.
Used DVD market is extremely cheap here now-a-days, with most titles going for 1 euro.

Oof, just watched some local news coverage and it looks real bad. Some streets are just impassable. Bit more folks out for long term groceries and the newscaster said it created a ‘chill environment’ in the supermarkets. That’s one way to look at it. I guess it looked fine in the video they were showing about it :)
Maybe I haven’t found the right one, but the cheap cheddar here is like ‘fantasy cheese’ or ‘cheese product’ or whatever you want to call it, and the expense cheddar is more expensive then a range of local cheeses with similar or better characteristics, while the local alternatives are often cheaper. If locally it can fill your needs then power to you. As long as we can all enjoy our cheese in high quality and relative peace, everyone is winning. But in my locality it feels like I’m overpaying for underperformance.
Grilled some gruyere on toast tonight for a nice onion soup. Just telling you so you know you can trust I love cheese.
How the heck is Mr Dafoe the green goblin, a depressed sailor and my mom from the 70s. Friggin human chameleon.

Oh gosh, now he’s done it. stern words are a brewin’!

“Pam!” Jim roared over the rumble. Pam sprinted toward him, clothes in tatters, her face smeared with ash and beet juice. Behind her loomed a tsunami-sized wave of raw beets. Miles away in his bunker, Dwight cackled maniacally, watching his ultimate revenge unfold on the monitors.
People love beets.
Looks like you would need to be a 6 dimensional creature to enjoy being massaged by something like that. Or maybe I’m just looking at this all the wrong way
