Yeah, that’s Calvinism.
Try to be successful at all costs so you have proof that god loves you. A message that is really compatible with Capitalism.
PS: I just understood that you asked about the definition.
Basically a reform / protestant roman Catholic theology inspired by Martin Luther founded by John Calvin.

Technology@lemmy.world•8 in 10 Europeans don’t trust US, Chinese firms with dataEnglish
5·10 days agoOf course.
Personally I have given up on that. I try to either use false information when they don’t need the real data or throwaway" emails and SEPA and one time credit card numbers for banking stuff.
I don’t trust any company with my data ever, so I’m constantly paranoid in a way.
A short and maybe wrong summary. If you succeed in life Jesus loves you and if you fail it was your fault for not trying hard enough.

If that is the case, would it not be be simpler,

World News@lemmy.world•Viktor Orbán concedes defeat as Hungary's Tisza Party heads for election winEnglish
4·10 days agoConspiracy smugness - I love it. I wonder what the technical term for that is.
Tisza already announced a pro-Europe course and who has to gain most of that - Ukraine, but since Orban can’t cut ties with Russia without falling out a window it was indeed a planned a opposition conspiracy by Orban that got taken over by Ukrainian intelligence which in turn is lead by the French DGSE, to get eastern Europe out of the Russian sphere.
So basically you fell for one of the oldest tricks the French intelligence services deploy since Napoleon. If you take over the man behind the man (in this case Selensky) you can’t lose and no one can trace it back to you.
NB: Ex falso, quod libet.

World News@lemmy.world•Prostitution of minors in France rises by 43% in 4 yearsEnglish
15·11 days agoLet me just point out two things.
Sex workers who work legally need to be eligible to work in the country they reside in and they are protected by workers laws.
Now think again what happens to sex workers who work in countries where it’s illegal and what leverage others have over them.
Also when sex work is illegal it’s mostly done by organised crime and and the right amount of money and leverage employed at the right spots can get the police / the state to look the other way.
Sex workers are hurt by criminalising sex work, simple as that.
