For sure! When driving downtown this is what freaks me out most while driving around. Last thing I want to do is hit someone.
When in NYC and Makati it shocked me to see how flagrant people are with just crossing the street wherever. Two places I’ll never drive, I’m not a good enough driver to not hit people in places like that.
I was running a contact tracing contact center during COVID and we were having a bitch of a time getting people to talk to us. We ran ads on TV and in the paper, got the mayor to talk about us several times on the news and just could not get right party contact (rpc) above 20%! Then one day I did this to my daughter and she gave me so much shit for just calling her like that.
A week or so went by and if sunk in, we kicked off a text first pilot in our worst penetration zipcode and like magic we were over 80%. We rolled it out to the whole state and we moved RPC up to 75+% for the remainder of COVID.
While I can’t say how many lives contact tracing saved, I firmly believe my daughter giving me shit about calling her like that saved at least a few.

My wife is a medical coder for the ED, for more than a dozen hospitals and says the overwhelming area for vehicle fatalities she codes is intersections crossing in front of traffic. Particularly trying to make the yellow. The plural of anecdote isn’t data mind you, but she’s been at this for 15+ years and has a pretty good sense of it.

My son and I have had this very argument. I think the top one is right as he thinks it’s the bottom one. I have a coding background and he has a 3D printing background. I figure that’s why we’re different but I know nothing about 3D printing beyond the cool stuff I see on the Internet and things he’s printed for me.
I lost my Dad to cancer earlier this year, for the last few months, even on his birthday, I’ve struggled to cry. This did the trick for me. I miss you, Dad!
I’ve read if we wake up knowing what we dreamt about we likely aren’t getting enough sleep. Since then I’ve worked hard in my sleep cycle and haven’t remembered more than a dream or two a year in more than a decade. That was my solution, maybe give it a go?
