Must be nice to be of the ownership/wealthy classes and be able to move away from the fascists during their rise to power. The rest of us will have to do our best to remember our own humanity while we watch people become nazis and trade their humanity away before the leopards eat their faces.

For now, yeah. I mean there is no such place as a safe or “good” nation. Every one of them will hold you at gunpoint demanding money so they can build a library.

But actively and swiftly the US is going full nazi. If one leaves I don’t blame them.

I’m not sure where the “gunpoint” part came from, but do you…not like libraries?

hahahah I love libraries. It’s a “reductio ad absurdum” that shows how a lack of tax payment will, eventually, result in a state destroying your everything, and when cops show up, it’s always at gunpoint. (at least in the US)

Before you get to thinking I’m a libertarian, recall I mentioned all nation states are bad.

Yup fuck these richies that flee with their money they made from being the spokespersons of the minority class they represent. They should stay and help fund the resistance but instead they say FYIGM.

I’ve seen a lot of comments on the Fediverse about people who have moved or aspire to move from red states to blue states. I hope they get the same level of vitriol in the future, just to keep things consistent.

if they are mega-millionaires and make it known, then absolutely they will. You might take notice how the average scholars, MD’s, and PHD’s that are also fleeing aren’t getting such hate.

You hope my wife and I get the same level of vitriol because we want to move to a state that won’t condemn her to death in the, likely for my wife, event that there are complications during a pregnancy???

I hope you have the day you wish upon others.

It was sarcasm. Commenter was quick to judge others for leaving an unfavorable environment instead of staying to fight. The reality is not everyone wants to put themselves and their families in danger for the cause.

Former moderator FlyingSquid moved to the UK from the US to protect a transgender child. I hadn’t thought about it before now, but he must be part of the Ownership class.

oh, wow. I thought they were still in Terre Haute. Good for them, though I don’t understand what’s so attractive about the U.K.
