I dunno. It looks like they will test their democratic power transfer in November. So either they are very fucked (and the rest of the world too), or they’ll just unfuck themselves a bit. We will only really know when it happens.

I don’t think the USA has the pull they used to, other countries are increasingly viewing them as an unreliable ally. Both in terms of trade and defence.
Other governments are still too deferential to the US for my taste. Hopefully that changes.
