I usually do a big bash on the 4th, I had friends ask why they hadn’t heard any details about the party yet. I told them it’s because I’m not feeling particularly patriotic these days so I’m not doing the party.
I completely understand the feeling and we almost went the same route.
Instead, we decided we’re celebrating having a country while we still can and are actually inviting people ahead of time instead of our last minute “oh yeah if you’re not doing anything, come light a few hundred dollars in fire and blow it up in the sky with us”.

I have a bottle of whiskey on standby for that glorious day.
I no longer drink whiskey, but I’ll definitely roll a fat joint and crack open a cold beer 🍻
I don’t drink or smoke anymore, but I’ll probably pick up a fancy cigar and a case of seltzers.
