In fact, Pretti possessed a lawful permit to carry a concealed weapon, and widely-scrutinized video has shown that he was disarmed before federal agents fired 10 shots at him as he was restrained.

If they knew he had a gun, they wouldn’t have escalated to beating him.

Once they knew he had a gun, they all assumed he would use it at the first chance to defend himself with deadly force…

I’ve been saying it for over a year now: a CCW doesn’t cut it at a protest, because it’s not a visual deterrent and the second it becomes one you just brandished it at a federal agent.

A rifle is out and in your hands as normal carry, it’s not brandishing and especially when there’s more than one it is a visual deterrent that will prevent beatings, spraying, and other attacks.

Nothing concealed about it, hands on the table.

And in Minnesota if you have a handgun permit, you defacto have a rifle permit. In fact, it’s the only permit you can get, CCW/open pistol/rifle, all the same permit.

Concealed carry is demonstrably more dangerous in every way for literally everyone. I honestly think it should be illegal to conceal carry, though I am not in favor of gun bans or the like.

CCW is fine and fills a role…

It’s just not effective against state sponsored terrorism, unless shit is so bad you’re best shot at surving an encounter with them is to shoot first.

And that’s after open carrying with a rifle for visual deterrent results in them shooting first.

There’s levels to this shit, we don’t have to wing it like it’s a brand new thing. Just not be ignorant of human history and how fascists act. None of this is new.

        Edit for historical context:

The Liberator was a crude and clumsy weapon, never intended for front-line service. It was originally intended as an insurgency weapon to be mass-dropped behind enemy lines to resistance fighters in occupied territory. A resistance fighter was to recover the gun, sneak up on an Axis occupier, kill or incapacitate him, and retrieve his weapons.
