Representative Ro Khanna, a prominent progressive and potential 2028 candidate, explicitly called for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to resign in the latest episode of Right Now. Khanna says that Schumer is ultimately responsible for Senate Democrats cutting a deal with Republicans that will likely end without enhanced subsidies for Obamacare being put back in place. He called the agreement a “moral surrender.” If it was never possible for Democrats to win those subsidies, they shouldn’t have been the basis for the shutdown strategy, Khanna argued. The California congressman said it was particularly disheartening to see this deal less than a week after Democrats had resounding wins in elections across the country. He floated Senator Chris Van Hollen as a possible replacement for Schumer.

I agree I’m fine with letting them rip each other to shreds, but knowing MGT and Kahnna (and Massie) are backed by Peter Thiel, let’s me know that he is likely paying them (and the press) to do this for a reason. It may sound like too much of a conspiracy theory to believe, but there’s a documented history of certain government agencies in the U.S. using media to manipulate broad public opinion, so at the very least you should be a little curious about who is pulling your strings and why. Because it’s never being done strictly for your benefit.

I think everyone knows Trump could be replaced by Vance at any point over the next 3 years without anyone really giving it much thought.

Who would replace Schumer isn’t as clear, but again, when you consider which Democrat is lobbying for his replacement (not AOC, not Sanders, but this fucking slimeball) you should question why his funder would need to oust Schumer right now?

As much as I dislike Schumer, he and other senators and members of the House are calling for the investigation of Peter Thiel and JP Morgan.

This is just a guess, but the first name that Kahnna floated for Schumer’s replacement, is also currently investigating Thiel’s crypto ties. Maybe Thiel’s hoping that he would be willing to look the other way if Thiel helped him advance his career?

      Same page overall.

It may sound like too much of a conspiracy theory to believe, …

I find myself surprised about what notions I’m no longer willing to write off out of hand.
