The controversy stems from Coca-Cola’s ties to “Israel” and its inclusion on the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement’s list.

One of the biggest pop culture fandoms on the planet is using their collective voice to speak out against the ongoing genocide in Palestine. That’s a pretty cool story as far as I’m concerned.
