Americans: “We took all power away from Democrats and gave it to Republicans. Why aren’t Democrats saving us from what we did?”
They had four years to hold the last Trump administration accountable and prevent all this.
Democrats in power: “we’re not going to persecute our political rivals because it would set a bad precedent.”
Republicans in power: “we’re going to persecute our political rivals.”
I agree but what would have also worked is not voting for Trump. But Americans don’t take responsibility.
Democrats do not take responsibility to put in the effort to win voters. Stop victim blaming.
So the 75 million of us who voted against Trump are responsible for the Americans who voted for Trump? We were supposed to convince everyone to vote for Dems? Isn’t that the Dems job?

Yeah, a whole lot of them even still say things like they voted for Donakd “to shake things up”, even as they whine about Democrats not preventing him from doing crazy stuff even they think is stupid and reckless. Many of them apparently just assumed Project 2025 was fake. Because he said so I guess? I really do not understand why so many people disregarded it.
I just had someone over the weekend (kinda right-leaning, but not a fan of Taco - I think they claim they voted Libertarian) question the claim that the SAVE Act might disrupt voting for married women that change their names. They said something like “that sounds like the Democratic equivalent of QAnon”.
This very same individual questioned the discussions around Project 2025 last year, dismissing it as sounding like “conspiracy theory”. I told them you can go look it up, download and READ the goddamn thing. It’s no “conspiracy theory”. I got a shrug as a response.
The shit in P2025 is so vile, that people didn’t want to believe it was real.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t really matter what they want to be real or not.
I wonder how much of that is due to the impression that Democrats are not really standing up to the thugs in our society (Republicans/conservatives).
Why would they? They are rich, they’re getting a tax cut, they get to keep insider trading. You think they’re gonna stop the gravy train?
