US children are 80 percent more likely to die before adulthood than children in peer nations. Causes range from lax gun laws to privatized health care. What connects them is a corrosive culture of individualism that makes child safety parents’ private business.

Our study findings suggest that children in foster care represent a critically vulnerable population. Children in foster care were 42% more likely to die than children in the general population, and the disparity was largely irrespective of race or age. In addition, the mortality gap widened over time.

Locally, Oklahoma DHS did not report a teen missing from a group home missing for THREE WEEKS. She turned up dead. I knew kids who ran away from their group homes to get medical care.

And with all the states banning abortion now, there are going to be even more unwanted kids in the foster system. It fucking sucks.

They want quantity over quality. You don’t have to live a very long or good life as long as you are born

In my case, it happened when my son was just six months old and I learned that the supposedly “organic” baby food pouches that he was addicted to were, in fact, chock full of carcinogenic heavy metals that have been linked to numerous neurological disorders, including autism.

… I’m immediately more skeptical of this.

Found the link to the study in the article for those who wanna go to the source: https://cdn.wildapricot.com/220571/resources/Documents/Jama_Child Mortality.Forrest_2025_oi_250043_1751296932.04615.pdf not sure if it supports the premise yet.

Do these other developed nations have the same level of inequity and blind eye to gun violence in their ghettos I mean urban areas too?

Did you know that your post, if copied exactly as written into a search engine, would yield a factual answer to your question?

I have a feeling you may disagree with the results that the search engines yield.

This is the way it used to be. Cities didn’t used to be able to sustain themselves through the birthrate alone; they were so toxic and dangerous that they would eat the populations within them, and needed a continuous flow of people from the countryside to sustain the population. Who would then, as the years went by, get fed into the maw and replaced in their turn.

Doing the whole country that way hasn’t been tried before to my knowledge, but what the hell, we might as well be the first to give it a shot.
