Which recession is that?

Which recession is that?

Mao was a dictator. You can find this out in all credible history books. He also was personally responsible for the deaths of millions of Chinese.

I once rescued somebody with the heimlich, and I can’t imagine how I could have broken a rib? I grabbed her below the ribs, pulled hard on the upper belly and the lodged object flew out in an arc.

Where do you live? In most countries such a case wouldn’t have a chance to end up in court.

Don’t lose hope, that’s what I wanted to express with my original comment. The world and humanity are in a deep crisis, on oh so many fronts. You have a choice though: invest in the future, make a positive change. Dont just consume the (bad) news, engage yourself, vote, protest! And enjoy the small things in life; if we run out of coffee, damn replace it with tea. Call me naive…

Actually, I am from Madrid in Spain , and we in Spain have a wide selection of children’s names: Lenin, Locomotive, Jesus, Ivan, Maria (for boy) . An uncle of mine wanted to name his little boy Lucifer, but it got refused by the civil servant!! We held a sit down protest in the village square, the mayor mediated between the parties. The little boy was then named after the King or the pope or some other dignitary. Ronaldo?

The future was never easy. But as long as there’s a cup of coffee, a piece of nature and a bit of love left, it’s ok.

Any sane person really still using Gmail?!

Weird that the UN makes such a statement, in most cases they try to remain neutral. The magic is in the word “could” more than triple. So it isn’t a prediction, it’s a wish/scenario or whatever. “Safer than any other option” - now that’s a tricky statement! As more countries start building nuclear reactors, one or two may get the bright idea to use the enriched uranium to create The Bomb, and the risk of a nuclear war is higher than ever, so no, nuclear reactors won’t make the world safer. Intriguingly, the majority of text in the AP article is about highlighting the countries where nuclear has led to tremendous conflict. And the uranium needs to be sourced from other countries, Russia comes to mind, so we create dependencies on countries we actually don’t want to do business with. I’m not convinced, sorry.

You can’t fix stupid.

The afd is a right-wing, extremist party, with ideas that are a direct threat to democracy. Among all the rightwing parties in Europe, this one is the most dangerous, as it is, at its core, deeply fascist. It’s pulling in uninformed voters, and may well be the biggest party in Germany soon; political chaos will ensue, and ordinary people will suffer the most.

You are so right. So make sure to always vote, or even better join political organizations (that’s what I’ve been doing, and at least I now sleep better… even if it’s hot;-)

Marginally? Do you have a citation about this for European towns and cities? In any case, a multi-pronged approach is needed: 1. Reduce CO2 emissions, 2. Promote passive cooling (trees, shade, insulation,…) 3. Use airco in critical locations . Most city councils are already doing this… although some political parties are still in the climate collapse denial phase, so (1) is in some towns ignored.

… which will result in hotter cities, causing more deaths.

What do investors get in return?

It’s the end result that counts! The invasion and destruction of Iran was a terrific success, congrats to the White House, president Trump, vice president Vance, the GOP and Hegseth… and the US Americans: for making the world a safer place!!! 🇺🇸🏈🌎🇺🇸 And that little fellow Rubio.

Probably, humanity will suffer a population collapse within 200 years (mostly due to climate collapse; there are several studies and reviews in this topic). If >95% would disappear, that would mean that the critical mass to keep industry, power plants, innovation, medical services and hospitals etc going is gone. So in the midterm future most human activity will be muscle- and analog- based. Don’t get depressed by this: we still have a chance to turn the rudder around; so get active!
How can the USA expect anything from any European country, after they have been fucking them in the knee over the past two years?
