In short, petty criminals risk death or prison for only two reasons: a) they feel they have no other choice and b) they are hoping, one day, to become part of the top members. That’s about it. Think about it for a while and the argument is easily transposed to the ‘’‘legal’‘’ corporate world, which also explains why middle managers tend to be obedient assholes who, instead of being mad at those exploiting them, exploit their underlings themselves.
