Games@lemmy.world•Google's Gemini will make its way into Dragon Quest X to power a "Chatty Slimey" AI companion, Square Enix has announcedEnglish
2·22 days agoAssuming this “AI NPC” is a functionally useless jelly blob that says jelly-blob things on occasion, “smoke and mirrors” may be good enough. I don’t think it’s supposed to be gameplay-driving or deep, just amusing.
Having played Automata first myself, I don’t think you lose anything by doing so. Playing Replicant may cause you to recontextualize stuff you remember from Automata, which I found to be fun. Either order should be fine.
YoRHa is the military organization consisting of androids (humanoid machines like 2B) which exists to fight the Machines (robots constructed by aliens) on behalf of humanity.
Providing a place to store and read data for minimal, nominal, non-invasive compliance with legislation so that people can protect themselves without harming anyone else
Things I have never said anything about:
- Giving your age to anyone
- Laws in the US
- Protecting kids
- Fingerprinting
I don’t think that’s a reasonable assessment of this change
Are you serious? I mean there’s a lot of dumb shit in this thread but come on
That is (or is not) happening regardless of systemd involvement. This is just a place to store the value. Not having such a place in systemd would just mean it is stored in some other place. This doesn’t make it significantly easier to implement age verification nor would reverting it make it significantly harder. It’s just a field that may be used by people who are legally obligated to store or read that data.
Every rant about systemd is a wasted opportunity to yell at someone who deserves it, honestly. Focus on the people pushing age verification laws or doing age verification.
Unless your system is for you and your kid, for example

People on Lemmy are absolutely rabid about “AI” they can’t help attacking people who don’t even disagree with them.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•I need to vent about plastic milk jugs
3·4 months agoThis is supported by the patent documents for at least one type of milk jug, which I found thanks to Snopes:
https://www.snopes.com/news/2023/01/07/milk-jug-indentations/
https://patents.google.com/patent/WO1999022994A1/en (page 2 lines 7-10, page 3 lines 27-29).
You could use it as a dressing rather than a dip. Like sriracha or tabasco, but not spicy.
