Yup, what I meant is that we were already on track of everyone having a computer with internet on their pocket, even if not as capable as the iphone at first.
Blackberries were already there and pioneered a lot of the technologies that made mobile networks possible.
Symbian S60 phones were basically smartphones with java apps, I remember browsing the web at large before there was even a browser in the first iphone.
Maybe, and I don’t doubt that urgent appointments happen and they try to squeeze them in and I understand that, one day it might be me.
But talking specifically about my kid’s pediatrician and my wife’s obstetrician, we several times were scheduled for a specific time, and we came to learn we were scheduled in 10 to 15 minutes windows, and most times the appointment would last for at least 20 to 30 minutes.
So they do have some blame, and they charge too much not to have some semblance of time keeping.

OSX is UNIX, built on BSD foundations but not BSD.
Android on the other hand IS Linux, and is distributed. So I say, it’s a Linux distribution.
All other things that people mention as qualifying for a Linux distro are either GNU libs (which alpine doesn’t have) or POSIX/UNIX way of doing things, which would disqualify Android from being POSIX compliant but not from being a Linux distro.
