It’s basically the same as gambling, some people are way more susceptible to it than others. You can say: “fuck those people they’re weak and deserve to go broke” or you can say we as a society owe them some sort of safeguard.

And they’ve tied the dependency tree together such that you can’t disable them without entirely breaking updates.

Be old/conservative, want to have sex at 18 because hormones, you can’t unless you’re married, get hitched for life to the first attractive person who shows up, wake up in 10 years and realize you married a stranger and you don’t really get along.
