This is an anti-gift.

I agree with you, but no matter has good your training and equipment, you’re taking the chance every time.
As someone pointed out elsewhere in this thread, the same is true of driving to work, which makes OP’s position rather questionable.

This is the worst headline I’ve read all day.

I don’t think he has any beef with firemen, but if your job is to deliberately expose yourself to an incredibly dangerous situation on the regular, death is kind of an expected outcome.
I agree, as far as that goes, but I still feel sorry for them.
I’m on board.

Wait, how many of those do we have? I’d expect us to have at least 10,000 given how we are supposed to be the bastion of goddamn freedom. Can hardly claim to be the stalwart defender of democracy if we don’t have enough ammo for at least a month.
And if we don’t have ammo, maybe we shouldn’t be starting wars with nations that have a military.

No, that’s the 35th rule.

Rule 34 applies.
No, not that one. Rule of acquisition #34.

Distilling is dangerous is it goes wrong.
Making meth is dangerous even if everything goes right.

I was around at the time, too, but young and still liked to think the best of people.

I’ve clicked a few. Mostly by accident, the rest by deception.

Add I understand it, the real meaning of that line is not exactly what it sounds like. It meant something like “in this anonymous place, only your thoughts matter, not your identity.” If an idea was good, it was good, and it didn’t matter who had the idea. Very egalitarian.
Of course, we have since realized that isn’t really true. Sometimes it’s important to know if a thought is coming from a woman, who has had different experience from a man.
Still an idea that need to be left behind, but not the one you probably think.

That’s what Eternal September means.

“Pics or it didn’t happen” doesn’t really work anymore.
I’m curious to know why they are there. They can’t have much in the way of line of sight from there.

I think maybe someone should be worrying about it.
The only thing this makes me think is “May I, please?”
If I had the skills. . .
