  • There are a wide range of conservative opinions that I don’t find problematic. Certainly some are but same can be said for any party. I’m not an “enlightened centrist” guy, certainly the American Republicans/Maga are fucking awful. But that is just one manifestation of a range of policies.

If you can’t differentiate someone that is simply conservative vs someone who is full throated MAGA then that’s more of a political literacy issue YOU have. Someone isn’t evil simply for wanting reduced taxes or less immigration or reduced “sexual positivity”. There are ethical forms of these policies.

And because it’s mandatory on a forum based platform - no, I’m not conservative. Im further left than most of you. I’m just also less emotionally charged.

  • Right so do you see how people that don’t have The Correct Opinion would view this as toxic.

I get it. We all hate the right here. You don’t need to lecture me on that. My point is that toxicity mostly emerges from people hating people that don’t have identical opinions as them. Slightly to the right = nazi. Slightly to the left = tankie.

    Just chill my guy

  • 4% is the lower end even for macrobrews. Budlight is the lighetest mass produced brew and that’s ~4.2%, but the standard set you’ll find at most generic bars (corona / budweiser / blue moon / lagunitas) at 4.5% / 5% / 5.4% / 6.2% and there are some common brands in the 8%+ range. It’s a weird narrative that American beers are all light, it’s like people think we ONLY drink bud light when in reality the majority of beer drank by Americans are non-light.

Once you get into the 10%+ range you’re not really drinking a “chill and watch the game” type drink anyways. And as you conclude, there are more efficient ways to get there than drinking a 14% lagar.
