You know they’ll disqualify anyone who might even hint at knowledge of jury nullification from the jury pool. They’ll be selected on their ability to convict solely.

Called it weeks ago. He’ll be long dead before then though. Almost certainly due to a prison shank. Mmw.
It would be a powerful message to other would-be whistleblowers. “It might take a decade but if you oppose us, you will eventually pay the ultimate price”.
Would it be in poor taste to suggest the bus driver who caused the crash was possibly paid or otherwise coerced to do so? Accidents happen, to anyone, but still…
Hah I wish I had that kind of drive. Spite can be powerful motivator.
This is why “living in interesting times” is a curse. Give me the boring decades where nothing happens.
I let Copilot write emails to annoying customers for me now. Company pays for the license, might as well use it.
Oversimplified, this is the problem: conservatives use tactics that target fear/uncertainty/doubt/… which are all “survival mechanisms” present in ALL brains (not even just mammalian). Progressives rely on actual facts and peer review, but you need to have a developed prefrontal cortex in order to think critically and logically. This is not something you’re innately born with FYI; it’s a skill that needs development and training, just like you would need to develop muscles in order to become an athlete.
The problem is that the first mechanism (amygdala) kicks in before the rational part of the brain does. It’s feelings vs. thoughts. It takes conscious effort and knowledge of this mechanism to escape back into your “logical self” and then argue from reason and facts. The opposite requires none of this. Just an emotional reaction without a consistent follow-through. These people don’t escape the emotional part of their psyche to then rationally overthink the facts; they BEGIN with their conclusion and will follow emotional cues to that end, and then rationalize their decision afterwards.
You can’t possibly reason someone out of a position they arrived at without using reason to begin with.
Fucking idiot, everyone knows you go to south asia for that, not Europe 🙄
I hate that I read this and immediately went “yup, that’s how it’ll go” without a hint of irony.
Not in a million years. But I’ll still be rooting for him regardless.
3B is peanuts to them. I want to see fines that cripple a company’s yearly profits so that, in lieu of criminal investigations and repercussions, the execs at the very least get punished by their board of directors and shareholders. There’s only one language they understand. Another poster called it “operating costs”. That’s what we need to get rid of; punitive fines need to regain their punitive nature in order to be anywhere close to effective.
Remember: today it’s “just” the Palestinians and you may not be affected or care. But tomorrow, it could be you.
160K isn’t gonna cut that though. He’ll need several hundred K more if he realistically wants to actually have any gains at all.
