Newsom is the capitalist governor in charge of the techbro state, there’s no way he regulates AI effectively.

Well the impression I’m getting from you is that you’re an asshole 🤷🏼♂️

Imagibe trying to police other people’s language in 2025

The sad part is, it’s one of the best facilities around in a very HCOL area. We pay $8000 per month just for room and board. When she needs more care that price will increase. You’d think with ~100 residents all paying at least that much that the place would be really good, right? But the staff is all paid minimum wage so they can’t hire people to provide the basic services they advertise, like transportation. The meals are all made from institutional wholesale ingredients like liquid “eggs”, frozen meat and vegetables, and red delicious apples.
My mom has been burgled by staff and ignored by caregivers while she was stuck on the toilet because the understaffing issue is so bad.
Most of the staff are great people, but the owners are making so much money that they could breed like rabbits and their great-great-grandchildren would never have to lift a finger in their lives.

Yes, my mother has advanced Parkinson’s and I was her primary caretaker for years before we finally had to move her into assisted living. I know very well how ill-equipped our society is for elder care.
People always talk about how it takes a village to raise a child, but we rarely talk about the village required to care for our elders.
Personally, I would rather kill myself than end up in a facility like my mom is in.

Every single assisted living facility in the United States would do the same thing. They are businesses designed to strip every last bit of wealth before we die, they do not give a shit about their residents customers.

But someone making money off of me without my consent is literally slavery. No one is saying that this form of slavery is equivalent to chattel slavery, so I don’t understand how this minimizes that? Do you also think that wage slavery or forced prison labor are not slavery?

Property records won’t tell companies how many people are living at a unit, who they are, how they use the space, when they use the space, how they arrange the furniture, etc., and they don’t provide live data streams from your house.
Well, the perpetrators will lose years of their lives to the prison system, that seems like some lost value.

Many college degrees (looking at you, biological sciences) don’t even have jobs available for fresh grads. When I graduated I was competing with thousands of others for like 5 jobs in the country. After my internship ran out I was never able to work in the field again.
Schools keep pushing those degrees though because it gives their professors a constant supply of free labor (interning in a lab is usually required to graduate).
Honestly for a very brief moment in 2008 (Obama’s first campaign) “woke” was a very popular term amongst liberals. Then reactionaries started using it as a pejorative and liberals stopped using the term overnight.

Source? Seriously, if you’re going to dispute sources you have to provide a better one.

Ok. Socialism works. How’s that?

The source is the World Bank. They are extremely unlikely to lie about this as their ideology is diametrically opposed to communism.

Most people have to work and do not have the time to home school their children.

There’s only a shortage of doctors because the AMA restricts the number of medical colleges so that the number of doctors is artificially kept low so that they continue to make super high wages.

Wanting to dominate others is a trait of sociopaths, and not something that most humans want.

USAID has a complicated history. On the one hand, preventing deaths by starvation is absolutely laudable and something that every rich nation should be trying to do. However as a tool for soft power, USAID was used to turn subsistence farmers off of their land so that US companies can buy it or so that the country becomes entirely reliant on the US and will do whatever they say, and that’s pretty evil.
That being said, cutting USAID overnight is the stupidest way to go about fixing the problems that USAID creates (and obviously Trump doesn’t care about the evil side anyway).
America has a two party system where both parties are controlled by capitalists and the entire system is designed to keep the populous divided and distracted so that the capitalists can continue to extract wealth. In such a system, participation itself is the moral choice, not the choice between one side or the other.
Voters give legitimacy to the false dichotomy that capitalists present us.
