    It’s straight up too simple of an issue. Trump has only flexed how much power he holds since taking office. The entire government is bending to his will. The party ran on transparency and releasing these files was a cornerstone of it.

    It’s as cut and dry as it gets with no nuance or politics or trailing consequences to consider. Even a child could see through the lie. He’d probably have better luck saying the deep state is sabotaging it’s release, but then he has to admit he’s not in complete control.

    That’s quite a corner he’s painted himself into.

      Good point, but I think there was probably a better narrative of, “We’re trying to release what information we can, but it looks like the Biden/Democrats destroyed the evidence!” The thing is, Trump was never really the guy crafting these narratives. Q and Q influencers were. Telling people he was going to release the Epstien files and then telling people the Epstien files don’t exist was his first attempt at making his own conspiracy narrative, and it did not go well.
