I had no issues getting the app, creating an account, and paying. Took me less than 5 minutes to start charging. I paid $0.47 per kWh. The support both CCS and NACS. From what it seems, each charger can be occupied by one car, so I’m not sure if the NACS cable could be used at the same time as I was charging while using the CCS. Does anyone know?
Cool but I wish we didn’t need apps. Just let me tap and pay like gas.
And yes, even though I don’t “like” Walmart, this means I’m going to be shopping there more often while I charge my car because convenience.
Sincere question: why would you need to charge at a walmart or other retail charger — do you by any chance live in an apartment complex? Not a slight, just trying to figure out if apartment people are finally adopting electric vehicles. Chargers at places like these could help with that kind of adoption.
Yes, apartment, street parking in Chicago. I’ve had my 2023 Bolt for almost 2 years now.
I pay 0.45/kWh at home.
Electric monopolies were a mistake. Is a solar and battery installation possible in your situation? At that price per kWh the payoff should be pretty quick.
can it be done kiosk like without an app?
getting the app, creating an account
They don’t support Plug and Charge?
0.47 a kwh!? Where do you live where that is in any way good prices?! No wonder you’re so willing to shop at Walmart if you think nearly 50c a kwh is anything but a deep fucking of you by Walmart…
That’d be considered cheap in California.
My last (only) road trip had prices ranging from $0.3_ to $0.68
In the UK, fast chargers are regularly over £0.80 a kWh. It means that journeys beyond your range actually cost more than gas (even when gas is really expensive too).
and yet regulators are willing to give datacenters a discount?? Sounds like it’s beyond time for some change of stewardship around the world…
