Only if Europe invests in science so they can actually do meaningful research here. I’ve seen some plans but we’ll see what will happen, especially with all the extra founding that will have to go to the military.
Even if the scientists go to the military sector that’s a boon for science. Military scientists often end up making things that get adopted all across society, GPS for example started as a military-only navigation aid. And technologies that can aid in giving medical aid to soldiers on the field can be adopted in hospitals.

I go to medical school in Texas. I can confirm the braindrain is fairly frightening to everyone in academics, medicine, and research here. MD/PhDs are the ones impacted most at my institution.
I fucking hate this state. I didn’t used to, but it’s pretty clear the state is highly corrupt.
I am so fkn glad that I made the decision to gtfo academia all those years ago.
