Driver nearly strikes pedestrian in West Loop crosswalk — then gets out of car and shoots him, police say

The 42-year-old man, who could not be reached immediately by the Sun-Times, was shot once in the left leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was in good condition, officials said.
