Wasn’t the RRoD only a problem of the first generation? OP has an S, it shouldn’t be affected by that problem.
A quick search revealed No, it is not only a problem of the first generation lol, the Jasper Kronos seems to be the most reliable model, which is a phat model.
You might be interested in the USB hack. It’s got really good, easy to perform and quite reliable in the past few months.

this… I only buy consoles when they are like $5-10 at thrift stores and crap, then I mod them and download the entire game library and throw emulators on it
haven’t bought a new console since PS3 and never will again. it’s at a point where I won’t even buy old used ones because of how shitty they are compared to the old ones
when youre ready, xbox series x can play practically any game off any system. not sure how many other consoles can do that

last i heard, developer mode can emulate practically any game. you can run some powerful emulators on it. might be a way to play modern games too but i havent looked into it. i saw people playing sega games on it and stuff
