Fuck NBC for labeling their protest as “pro Gaza” instead of the much more accurate “anti-genocide”. I realize that our media is almost entirely owned by like 12 billionaires, but it still chafes.

We will get somewhere, but I’m not sure it’ll be a good place. Here’s my prediction of how it will go:

Once Gaza and the West Bank are fully and exclusively populated by Israelis and American tourists, once the Palestinians have all been slaughtered or run out of their own country, once all the dust has settled and resort hotels have been built on top of all the mass graves, then and only then will our news agencies finally refer to what happened as a genocide. Some well-known news anchor will look into the camera with weary eyes and a little ribbon pinned to their lapel, they’ll take on a somber tone, and they’ll say “never again”. Someone will win a Peabody for the story. And just as society starts to believe those words, “never again”, the history of those events will be banned from schools and libraries, and those teaching it will be fired and jailed. The memo will come down from corporate and that same news anchor will again appear on TV. They’ll look into the camera with a sparkle in their eye, flashing their overly white news anchor smile, and talk about how all the trans people being rounded up and put into camps is definitely not a genocide, and saying so means you hate God.

“This is Jim Tradman for Channel Five News, signing off. Blessed are the fruit, under His eye.”

But then, I’m a bit of a pessimist.

If you watch the video the cops assault the protestors which is so crazy. I get you can remove the people and am not surprised cops acted this way it’s just so disgusting to see.

Ben & Jerry’s parent company is Unilever. Their stock is currently 60.60 usd. Let’s see if it climbs after this.

The hippie movement was coopted by the elites early on, which is why they stopped talking about economic justice and focused more on concepts like “free love”, “equality”, drug use, and other cultural focuses.

Those hippies (namely Steve Jobs) later went on to define our current Big Tech industry.

Meanwhile, when a strong leader arises who starts to sound a little too much like a socialist (MLK Jr.), the state murders them.

MLK has a good rep today because of the non violence. Malcolm X and the Black Panthers were just as if not more influential for change, but they’re completely ignored in schools and media today.

For anyone who grew up learning about MLK Jr and not Malcolm X -

I’d recommend a book called “The Sword and The Shield”! I thought it did a dope job comparing and contrasting the two figures. Importantly, MLK Jr was way more radical than many of us were taught in school, and by the end of his life he was changing his approach, having been forced to acknowledge that non-violence alone wasn’t going to cut it. In other words he became more aligned with Malcolm’s principles and beliefs as he watched the civil rights movement struggle and falter, and I believe this is ultimately why he was killed.

And then our lords and masters de-fanged his legacy, teaching generations of kids only the non-violence, giving millions the false idea that non-violence alone is enough, and not just enough, but the preferred and historically-proven method of achieving change.

It never has been and never will be, non-violence is only effective alongside credible threats of violence (at a minimum), and Martin and Malcolm both knew that to their core. That book helped me correct what was a confusing hole in my understanding of the world.
