Explanation: The Nazis, as they are better known, were formally the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NSDAP). Despite this, their claims to be socialist was never very strong - nor a workers’ party, for that matter, as their support came primarily from the middle class. For that matter, in their most famous period after they took power, they purged the more-left-wing (insofar as such a leaning is possible within the bizarre Nazi worldview) faction, and openly aligned themselves with capitalist magnates, who were getting nervous about the left-wing talk in some corners of this “socialist” party, and were greatly relieved by Hitler’s reconciliation with big business and privatization.
Makes me want to start a hard-left “American Conservative Christofascist” party.
American Christian Business Party
Honestly that does sound more believable as a party name.
I need an explanation of the screenshots. What did the original say?
If only misrepresenting socialism ranked highly among the worst things they did.
In addition to other trivial arguments to disprove this, my method is four letters: DPRK.
Careful, you never know when you’ll run into an unironic Juche supporter
/r/PyongYang for example. heh.
If anyone tries to say that, tell them national socialism was really nationalism.
“You said you were antifascist”
I don’t think the Nazis ever claimed to be antifascist.
