This show of force, welcomed by some Palestinians after months of lawlessness, could now threaten the fragile ceasefire, especially as all living hostages from Hamas’s 7 October 2023 attack have been released.

The Hamas-run police maintained a high degree of public security after the militants seized power in Gaza 18 years ago while also cracking down on dissent. They largely melted away in recent months as Israeli forces seized large areas of Gaza and targeted Hamas security forces with airstrikes.

Yes, that’s usually how you deal with collaborators and snitches when you’re at war with a much larger enemy. I don’t see what their religion has to do with it, Hamas is a nationalist anti-colonial movement, not an Islamist one.

Their reason for existence is to do to Israel what Israel has been doing to Palestine, they just don;t have the backing and resources to do so. Hamas deserve not one iota more respect or forgiveness than the IDF. The innocent Palestinians getting fucked over six ways from Sunday in the middle are where sympathy goes, don’t mistake them for Hamas any more than you mistake the Israeli government for Jews worldwide

They’re the Resistance Française of Gaza, except the (new) NAZIs occupying their land have been there for 7 decades instead of a mere half a decade (plus this time around Britain and the US are part of the Axis alongside the NAZIs), hence their actions are more desperate.

Remembers those WWII films were the Resistance Française, when they caught them dished deadly justice to filthy French Colaborationists that had helped the evil NAZIs either by snitching others to them or even by acting as an auxiliary militia for the occupying NAZI forces? Remember cheering for the Resistance and feeling righteous justice from them dealing with the people who were so evil that they betrayed their own neighbours and even families to the NAZIs?

Morally this is exactly the same situation.

Nazi is not an acronym, it doesn’t need to be capitalised like that. Also this isn’t a film, this is religious nutjobs murdering people (possibly at random or for dubious reasons) in retaliation for fascist nutjobs murdering people (definitely at random and for dubious reasons).

Hamas wouldn’t need to exist if Israel ended their apartheid and genocide of Palestinians. There is no “both sides” here.
