If you cancelled your Disney+ over this, don’t reactivate it just because they bring Kimmel back. They can’t get away with just a slap on the wrist, they need to lose a whole hand. This needs to hurt them for more than just a week; this needs to be a permanent, scarred gash on their history otherwise we’ll be right back here again next week.

Yeah I’m not gonna be reactivating their shit. I am perfectly comfortable hoisting my Jolly Roger again if I want to see some Star Wars content they come out with.

I dunno, man. My mind goes to positive reinforcement for doing the right thing. Disney is a maaaaaaaaaassive fucking corporation with a platform that can reach many many people. If we reward them for fixing their mistakes and punish them for going against societal contracts and moral values, then perhaps they will put out content that reinforces the societal contacts and moral values which helps fight authoritarianism.

Money is what they care about, not values, but even if they are spreading the values we want just because of money then they are still spreading the values we want. We need platforms that can at least even pretend supporting our narratives in the sea of right wing propaganda.

Exactly why they don’t need positive reinforcement, IMO. How do you reward one who already has everything?

But sending the message that they’ve irrevocably lost us no matter what they do now is sending a message that they should continue to do whatever the administration says because there’s no benefit to changing their path.

No, the benefit to changing their path is that it can still get much worse for them if they don’t. As long as the company is run by people with anything left to lose, it can get worse.
