State leaders are going their own way in making vaccine policies this fall — which means your ability to get a COVID-19 shot may soon depend on where you live.
New York has declared a “statewide disaster emergency” to preserve access to COVID vaccines. Massachusetts is making insurers pay for vaccines recommended by the state and not solely those recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. New Mexico is taking steps to ensure that pharmacists can continue to give out vaccines.
Some states are banding together to form regional health coalitions. Oregon, Washington, California and Hawaii have formed the West Coast Health Alliance to coordinate their vaccine recommendations. States in the Northeast are considering a public health collaboration.

Went to Walgreens for my jab, scheduled on their own app.
First they tried to tell me I had to be 65. Then they tried to tell me that I needed to have a prescription. Then they said they wouldn’t be able to push it through the system. Then the pharmacist accused me of not going to the Walgreens near my house because they would not provide it to me (utter nonsense, it just didn’t have Moderna available in app). Then the pharmacist told me her cartilage issues were caused by the mRNA vaccine lol. And then she finally did the shot.
Sounds like the main issue was the pharamcist. Anti-science nutjob should lose their license.

Got my flu and Covid vaccines yesterday. My state does lots of things poorly but I am grateful that this isn’t one of them.
This is excellent news. I think it was just last week that cvs and other pharmacies were not supplying vaccinations to Massachusetts at all, based on the law that said they had to follow the CDC. Now I just drove back from a road trip and see on my CVS that they’re giving out free Covid shots!!! Good news everyone!
