We got line 2k troops in DC right now that could end Trump and the fascists. They just need to wake up and remember their oath to the constitution.

Yeah, that movie sucked. The only almost good scene was the “What kind of American are you?” scene, which was entirely undermined by the fact that it ended with the guy choosing to kill the only genuine foreigners in the group instead of any of the Americans, regardless of what “kind” they were ??? Maybe I’m the one that completely missed the point.

Yeah, I remember being underwhelmed with the lack of a coherent plot.

My armchair critique is; It didn’t make any political prescriptions, or communicate any sincere analysis of real life shit. That’s me being insufferable, though.

California has an indepenent committee that draws the maps. This action will require a statewide vote to temporarily override that committee’s maps for this purpose. I don’t think the vote would have succeeded before Trump won. Remains to be seen if the vote will succeed now.

It’s amazing how many Americans seem to have wanted the Democrats to stage a coup to keep the Republicans from staging a coup.

Its not staging a coup, they could implement fair districting or ranked choice voting years ago but it would lead to people being able to support and run on policies that are more socialist then the democrats are allowed by their capitalist owners. See whats happening in NYC now due to ranked choice, that could be across the US but both parties are strongly against it.

Both parties have this issue, its just that for the republicans they decided to embrace the far right instead.

IMO it is unwise to make such statements in this day and age… whisper them ok but don’t shout it out.

Same with wanting Obama to run a 3rd time if Trump does…
The other day I saw a video titled “Bernie Sanders calls on students to rise up”.

Not a good thing to put those people in harms way by drawing attention from the wretched eyes.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not calling for silence, do protest, loudly, but it has to come from the people and don’t single out targets for the oppressors to make easy examples of.

Is this possible? My understanding of US democracy is incomplete, but I thought California alone lacked the influence to unseat a president, even if all their representatives were united.

True but the house is very close right now. California can take more democrat seats from republicans than Texas can take from democrats.

This isn’t about removing the president that takes a simple house majority and a 2/3 senate super majority. California can’t change the senate balance in favor of democrats.

Part of the reason Trump is able to do what he is doing is republican control of the house, senate, and supreme court. So talking even one of those from republicans could make a huge difference.

Assuming the democrats actually act like an opposition party.

Assuming the democrats actually act like an opposition party.

Im betting they’ll take it right up to the finish line and then pretend to fall down so the Republicans claim victory. Liberals far and wide will cheer them on for “trying” and then excuse their failures because “Democrats dont have the power to do anything.”
