(Not as scary as I look, I promise)
. . . but sometimes I just trail off . . .

There’s Instant Street View, tho it’s just I guess a wrapper (???) for Google SV.

I hear ya. I have never had good luck with Scribus despite several dedicated tries. Still kind of learning Inkscape; I mentioned Krita instead of GIMP because it has full CMYK support. Depends on what your needs are I guess! 🙂

As far as InDesign—I don’t think it will probably ever have 1:1 feature parity, but LibreOffice Writer has recently gotten some new features that allow for more fine-tuned word and letter spacing as well as glyph scaling. A paragraph composer is on the horizon as well. There’s also Inkscape and Krita, but I’m guessing you probably already know about those…
EDIT: Also agitating for optical margin alignment on Writer; will see how that goes…

Looks like ebooks purchased from Google Play Store still use crackable Adobe DRM. I’d prefer to buy from ebooks.com, but I refuse to be confined to one app or device by fucking DRM. I don’t like giving money to Google, but if you have GrapheneOS you’re already forking out big bucks to them for a Pixel phone, though hopefully in the future it’ll be able to run on Motorola . . .

There’s this, but anyone know where I can get Thorium 3.10?
EDIT: Was hoping for Calibre plugin(s) . . .
EDIT EDIT: Tried this without success:

This is great! And it’s been around since June of last year! How did I miss this? Think it might be because I should’ve searched for “block” rather than “tetris” on F-Droid.

Actually, you can use Signal for this, if you have it on both your phone and laptop, and use “note to self.” I prefer this because it’s very straightforward and isn’t bogged down with a lot of extraneous extra features that other notetaking apps I’ve tried tend to have.
You can always check AlternativeTo for FOSS (and non-US based) software alternatives.
