Guacamole in an LXC container and a virtual desktop in another.
Requires no client side software, supports totp, lets me do remote admin on weird stuff like printers and home routers.

VPN and public trackers gets you more shows and films than any human could ever consume. I’m not sure why any other method exists.
It seemed like the easiest way to store multiple years of data in a format that wouldn’t change or disappear.
I found it super easy to work with as a never-went-to-school programmer (in the rime before claude).
Used to be 200watts bang on but the latest round of updates bumped it up to 210Watts. Everything is on a UPS and I pull measurements from that into an RRD DB (because I like to make my own stuff). It’s kinda cool to see how heavy disk use or CPU intense tasks will increase power draw by up to 50W, or some times or when the power drops off sharply I know my NVR container is not working because 6 ffmpeg tasks all stopped at the same time.

If their FEM software is anything like their industrial software I wouldn’t trust it to analyze a doorstop.

Siemens is a dogshit company. I work with LOADS of their industrial automation equipment, from 1989 S5 PLCs up to brand new 2026 hardware. The newer it gets the more it feels like it is directed by an MBA and designed by an intern, impossibly thin plastic connectors, 24v input cards that over heat, entire product lines that are obsoleted with no direct replacement.
Fuck’em. They are doing the same enshitification dance as the rest of the world.

I would rather have a netbook with a cellular modem than a phone at this point. They are all 6" diagonal slabs of brain cancer.
Been using LibreOffice for at least a decade now, OpenOffice before that and I’ve always been satisfied. I’m not a power user but for the 2 spreadsheets I make a month it works great.
