1·13 hours agoYou won’t find many people who know anything about football, and think Spanish style of play is “boring”.
If they score early, you’ll be watching a team play keep away for 80 minutes.
I’m not sure which matches you have watched, if any, but this is a mischaracterization. They play with a possession based strategy and constantly rebalance the field using short passes, in order to exploit numerical advantage, and this never changes. Look at the matches versus Austria or Saudi Arabia in this World Cup, classification matches to the WC, or any other match during the Euros 24 before quarter finals.
Now, if you think that Spain scores less on average, compared to other teams, take a look at the knockout stage: most games were won by a one goal difference, and, if we remove the third place match outlier, Spain is right in line with every other team in terms of goals. In terms of expected goals and shoots on target, Spain is first and second respectively [0]
This is the same team you believe plays “keep away”.

5·1 day agoSo it is derogatory, got it.
You need to say it more than once to sound obtuse?
You said that I “kept saying that Rome is not in Spain”, which is not true. And why do I even need to read your own messages back to you? You can write but not read?
Sometimes stereotypes exist for a reason xD
I guess it sometimes is true.
There’s this joke we tell in Spain: how did the Argentinian commit suicide? They jumped from the top of their own ego.
Let me know when you can back that ego up, instead of outsourcing it to a team full of little whiny bitches who can barely kick a ball. In the meantime, enjoy being second.

4·1 day agoIt is also colloquially used when someone does something very dumb or fails to understand something very simple.
Yeah, and you are asking me why I would be offended by that, after you suggested that the term is derogatory.
Is it the only “insult” or whatever that we use like that? Nope.
Not really helping your case here, are you.
But you keep repeating “rome isn’t spain”?
Literally typed that once.
Are you trying to tell me that you know first grade geography or just that you lack any sort of reading comprehension skills?
I don’t know what to say to this. You are assuming some things that aren’t at all true, and projecting about the rest.
Are you OK?

15·1 day agoMy grandparents lived in South America for a decade. They were called “Gallegos” every other day, which they were, because they were from Galicia. Argentinians specifically used the term as a synonym for “simpleton”.
I would like to know if you really think that a slur is the appropriate response to someone making fun of the Argentinian national team after an awful performance.

20·1 day agoThis guy was expecting them to go out into the streets of Rome in the middle of the night and start behaving like animals.
Which tells you exactly what they think “Argentinian passion” is.

15·1 day agoI’m from Galicia, in fact. And I know the history of the word. What a PoS you are.
What’s next? Any racial slur you want to share? Argentinian players sure love those.

34·1 day agoThey were caught singing racist songs against French players after they won Copa America a couple years ago.
Why they did it when France didn’t compete in the tournament (for obvious reasons), we will never know.

34·2 days agoA back head pass by Nico, Merino pulling a defender and opening for Ferran to score. It was a pretty good goal.
But I guess that it requires some football knowledge to appreciate it?

43·2 days agoI’m happy that Argentina lost too. They played shit football and their best claim for a title was for “dirtiest player of the tournament”.
My vote is split between Fernández and Simeone, although the latter surely is making his daddy proud.

6·2 days agoI guess it’s boring if you don’t understand the game?

Messi tried to get Cucurella ejected for covering his mouth while he was speaking to a teammate. Bitch move.
The irony is that the rule that would have sent him off is enacted because another racist incident by an Argentinian player, Gianluca Prestianni.
