infinitesunrise@slrpnk.netto Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Ukraine rescues soldier via drone delivery of complete e-bikeEnglish2·2 days agoYeah it’s been kind of crazy how when it comes to the Ukraine war people seem to not only have zero issue posting straight-up gore on major websites, but also completely neglect to add trigger warnings. Society always cared about these things before but the rules get exempted specifically for this conflict. It could be merely because both sides here have good surveillance technology and a desire to demoralize each via information war but it also feels like a biased exception on the part of my fellow westerners sharing this stuff where there’d normally be a bunch of people reporting and censoring it. Like oh, they’re Russians and Russians are always our nemeses, so it’s OK because it’s personal for us. Or some shit like that. As if that somehow changes or invalidates the hard facts of alienation and trauma.

I feel like this is the most remarkable fact in the article, and not the fact that the bike was delivered by drone.
Oh jeez look at that I’ve had the genocide apologia switch flipped this entire time, silly me.
Whey powder is the fucking worst ingredients list spoiler. So fucking arbitrary, literally never actually needs to be there.
Why the “technically” qualifier. They’re positively vegan!
Well it’s a fungus, and we eat fungi the same as we eat plants. We’re more concerned with undue human-driven suffering, which generally requires a central nervous system, and only animals have that.

I don’t mind new fees, but new fees added to electrics that don’t get added to combustions seems regressive.
As for the per-mile charge, I like that and think it should apply to all vehicles. Flat fees don’t sufficiently or accurately compensate for road use, but a mileage charge does. People who are on the road all day should be paying more than people who only drive to get groceries, even if it’s for their job, because they put equivalently more wear on the system.
infinitesunrise@slrpnk.netto Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•This how the Governor of Oregon wants to finance her transportation plan English19·5 days agoIMO Kotek has been mostly a lame duck, but these proposals aren’t bad. I would invert the 50-30-20 revenue split between state, county, and city because it’s almost always cities or counties that are creating and maintaining bike and transit infrastructure, while today the state’s largest initiatives are still highway expansions. Highways are so very money-hungry.
Also shout out to front end js libraries that hijack and discard familiar default page rendering behavior in favor of asserting their own arbitrary, untrustworthy, and inferior render behaviors that break completely outside of chrome browser or with any extensions running, gotta be my least favorite gender.
Like how so many sites just fuckin come to a dead stop and reload completely if you click literally anything because the developer didn’t follow React design philosophy perfectly. Thanks a million, Facebook, so cool so cool.

infinitesunrise@slrpnk.netto 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•how do you rule like this girl?English3·7 days agoPsssh IMO the concept of time itself is far less natural than the ADHD it molests.
infinitesunrise@slrpnk.netto 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•how do you rule like this girl?English4·7 days agoDrink more water, get sufficient salt. This happens to me sometimes if I forget those and I’m a 6’/200lb dude. It’s pretty embarrassing having to sit down quickly on a diirty work floor to avoid slamming face first unconscious into said floor.
infinitesunrise@slrpnk.netto 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone•how do you rule like this girl?English4·7 days agoMy unsolicited advice: Splurge on a bottle of multivitamins, take one with your rice meals. If you’re missing those vitamins and nutrients you’ll feel a positive difference within a few weeks.

Imagine being a fan of any CEO.
Captain Hook, evil dandy trope.
The Baron Harkonnen example is interesting because the author was admittedly homophobic when he wrote the character, but later regretted the choice after making amends with his gay son.
infinitesunrise@slrpnk.netto memes@lemmy.world•Then they will ask why nobody wants to use their payment cardsEnglish4·8 days agoI think the best thing we can do is create long-term alternatives. But I do think that the most reasonable, effective, productive thing we can do is to just collectively harass the credit card companies harder than some outspoken religious nuts do to prevent them from caving to censorship demands.
Really depends on where you put them, and if you couple them with other common sense changes like infrastructure redesigns and public outreach.
