In that case, don’t put a date on the flyer, but put a date on the website.
That way people can think that they missed it. Bonus points if you pick a date that’s unreasonably far into the past.
I waddled onto the beach and stole found a computer to use.

What do you mean by that? This sounds like a by-the-books procedural step
“President Herzog has invited Gadi Eisenkot to the President’s Residence, where he will be tasked with forming the government tomorrow,” said the spokesperson of President Isaac Herzog, whose largely ceremonial role involves nominating a candidate to form a coalition after elections.
Serious answer on a non serious post: scar tissue
A temporary injury is recoverable, but persistent injury causes the liver to lay down scar tissue. Eventually that scar tissue will limit the liver’s ability to do work
I searched through my comment history, and I’ve done it enough times on here that there are a number of examples
Ironically, I also argued in favor of sharing uninformed opinions once 😄 In my defense, it was about responding to questions when asked, rather than going out of your way to share an opinion

Yea I thought of that name because that’s the phrasing used by the organization at my former university, which I know has done good work. In case you find any helpful resources, their website is here: https://www.amssasc.ca/
I’m sure there are many other excellent organizations out there.
Typically the type of content you can’t post on my communities
Yea that’s my bad, I haven’t kept up with that community since subscribing to it a few years ago. It looks like the discussion in that community has gotten less focussed and shifted towards discussing areas of controversy. I agree it’s not the kind of stuff you’d want for your community.
When I first subscribed to it, it was closer to what they still have in their sidebar:
This community is first and foremost a feminist community for men and masc people, but it is also a place to talk about men’s issues with a particular focus on intersectionality.
All the more reason why your new communities will be helpful :)

Be careful with old phone batteries if you’re going to leave it somewhere plugged in for months

I don’t think you need to keep the naming structure the same as Reddit, especially if you don’t need to keep any official connection to the subreddit moderators and you disagree with how they ran things
If you’re looking for names, perhaps “sexual assault support”? Or just “sexual assault”, and ignore whatever went wrong with the subreddit
You can also link to related communities once you find ones that align with what you’re trying to do. For example, !mensliberation@lemmy.ca sounds related to what you have described
So apparently this is in reference to some twitter-specific bubble, where MAGA people were trying to make Anakin a symbol of… something
I didn’t understand it myself
Also
There is also no proof that fear motivated Musk to delete the posts. He never publicly explained why he removed them. Instead, he joked about the election results on X, writing, “Guess my election-interfering space lasers didn’t work this time.” He also made comments about building data centers in space, which remained on his account.
I’m not sure what the fear rumor is trying to get at. What would he be afraid of? This post makes it sound like he shared something incriminating and then deleted it
Then this post should be taken down under this community’s rule 7
I don’t think he understands or cares. He is not going to be affected by made up stories about him in any significant way, but it makes it that much harder to bring truth back into politics. If you actually manage to fool one of his supporters and they find out about it, it will only make Trump’s propaganda stronger. Meanwhile if you fool someone against him and they try to cite it, they’ll lose credibility.
Trump deserves a lot of things but this one actively hurts people’s ability to push back against him.
Just add a /s or satire tag to things. Have your fun without confusing people and muddying the waters
Hi @FiniteBanjo@feddit.online, would you mind editing this comment to point out that you are referring to African Americans? I think a chain of midunderstandings in this thread are causing people to think your comment was meant to be racist. Looking through your posting history, I don’t think that was your intent.
For anyone else that is coming across this thread, here is my interpretation of what happened:

an industry selling pattern recognition suddenly becomes so bad at recognizing one
I think they do recognize the pattern.
With trump, I genuinely don’t know if he understands that people don’t like him. With the big tech companies, I think they have a pretty good idea of how each individual person feels about these data centers.
Since the midterm elections have just passed, they don’t need to worry about how the average voter feels about them for another two years. However, they do need to convince their investors that everything is ok. Between the partial bubble pop in China, the crypto heist, Google’s stock drop, and now the republicans losing power, they’re spooked

While it depends on the region, some of them are paying for what they use. The problem is the sudden increase in demand causes the entire region to need capacity upgrades, and those costs are passed on to all users. Or if the region imports electricity, then the extra demand might cause it to be a more expensive purchase.
What’s wild is that in some places, the data centers get a discount at the expense of other users
https://salatainstitute.harvard.edu/how-you-subsidize-big-tech-with-your-electricity-bill/
Recent federal antitrust litigation against Duke Energy established that the company sought to shift costs of a discounted contract to its other ratepayers. Internal documents disclosed through litigation revealed that Duke could not compete for customers against a new, more cost-efficient power plant developer. Duke, however, offered one of its larger customers a new contract that amounted to a $325 million discount. Exploiting its monopoly authority, Duke “plan[ned] to shift the cost of the discount…back to its [other ratepayers] in years to come.”
No, sorry I should have included that here too. I put the credit in the sidebar: https://www.flaticon.com/free-stickers/stage
I looked through unsplash and flaticon, and this seemed closest to what we had before (a stage with a spotlight)
My province switched to permanent DST this year, so we’re experiencing it for the first time and it’s… not that bad 🤷
I’m in Vancouver where it’s already cloudy, and some kids were already heading to school an hour early for various extracurriculars
IMO if kids going to school in the dark is really a problem, then it should be fixed by adjusting when school starts and ends rather than changing the clock for every single person. I like having more sunlight in the afternoon when I can make use of it, compared to in the morning when it’s used up by transit / getting ready for work and school.
However I wouldn’t mind it too much if we had switched to permanent standard time either. I’m just glad that we don’t have to change anymore.

Neat, I wonder if there are other form factors for the microwave one. This particular one might not work well for some dishes.
For the second tool, what kind of stuff have you used it for?

I got it to cut off itchy tags and frayed threads, etc, but you can also use it to slice open envelopes

I think some mobile apps get rid of the duplicates, although I’m not familiar with which ones do that. Unless someone else replies here, you could try posting to !lemmyapps@lemmy.world
