Kerbal Space Program had a super nice community. Well, until KSP2’s cancellation, that brought a ton of haters seemingly out of nowhere. Fortunately I think that’s blown over and all the kind and creative people are moving over to Kitten Space Agency, which seems like a way better project.

Yep, every electric device is a toaster, some are just super inefficient at it.
The game engine itself was by far the most dangerous thing in hardcore mode 😆 But I got lucky and finished it too and it was a hell of a rush. More about caution and planning than mechanical skill like a lot of games.
Subnautica helped me vanquish (control, really) my thalassophobia
Me too… in video games lol. Real water can be like a thousand times more murky, and wreckage can be full of dangerous rust and things to get your equipment tangled on 😞
But anyway yeah it became one of my very favorite games and I even beat it on hardcore mode. The cyclops only tried to yeet my character once or twice lol

I just plugged in the old Steam Controller on my PC and it works for navigating around KDE just fine. No Steam Client running. Right pad is mouse, right trigger is click, joystick or left pad to scroll up/down.
Weirdly it stops working when I fire up Heroic Launcher so I’ll have to look into that. Works again if I also open the Steam client in the background.
I don’t think all membranes are equal. Reviews so far are saying the face buttons here are rather quiet but also not as snappy as others (presumably comparing to Deck).
Hasn’t someone written a wrapper to use the original Steam Controller without the Steam client software? I thought that was a thing years ago.
I’ll watch this when I get a chance, but I’m wondering if the puck actually polls at 1000 Hz but splits it up to 250 Hz per controller. That would be one way to design it for 4 controllers with common industry parts.
EDIT: Watched. GN didn’t check this out even speculate, but the measured latency was excellent with the wireless puck.
Scoring only 3.5 for software is pretty ridiculous, since Steam runs in every major desktop OS and SteamInput is crazy customizable. Most dedicated software for devices is either Windows-only or hot garbage (or both).
I find it breaks my game immersion 🤷♂️
Oh, maybe they added it later! Pretty cool if so. It just means you can tilt the controller without affecting the gyro until your thumbs are on the pads or joysticks. It’s configurable on the Deck.
Mostly yes, but it wasn’t flawless. Those trackpads are quite loud (compared to the Deck), the ABXY buttons are a bit too small and awkwardly placed, and there are just many times that I want a second thumbstick. Also it lacks touch-to-engage for the gyro but that’s a newer invention.
I think the most impressive innovation came from pairing it with Steam Input. That system is still wildly underappreciated; it’s what lets you turn the trackpads into things like custom radial menus.
Pretty much same story as curry, but good ol’ Texas chili looks pretty unappealing. Of course it’s damn good assuming it’s made right.
Supposedly the yellow ones have a little more flavor but I can never find those.
But yeah the best pink dragonfruit I had tasted like water with just the smallest hint of sugar and lawn clippings. So disappointing.
Good pick. The goo inside looks like vibrant chunky snot but tastes amazing.
