Funny thing, that’s how I ended up with my current EV. I was pricing out an EV upgrade (taking an old EV, building it a new battery and adding fast charging), and for the price of just the raw battery components (batteries and BMS, no wire or anything), it was the price of my Bolt… But the bolt was done and cost no effort, and ended up being cheaper because I got a whole car for the price of the battery.

Yeah, I don’t get the same privacy as an old car but like… I actually ended up liking this car a lot.

Basically “put it in your checked bag unless it’s under 3.4oz and in a quart baggie”

It’s funny, I found that switching tabs will immediately make it start playing the video. The idea of losing you entirely is too much, I guess

It’s surprising how they were kinda the first to promise this sort of thing, but they’re SO FAR BEHIND the other companies who got into it. Sure, the other companies don’t claim that they’ll be anything beyond really advanced cruise control, but even then, a lot of them are really close to breaking out of that.

I also love their charger network as a non-rivian owner. Seamless, sleek, fast, no faffing with an app…

But also their app has a route planner for EVs to account for charging stops?! And it lists all chargers, not just their own. I’m actually pleasantly surprised.

EDIT: well I just found out how they managed to roll their own route planner without me hearing anything about it and only seeing people talking about ABRP still: Rivian just bought ABRP, so their app is just calling ABRP in the background with only their specific car’s info. I opened ABRP today for it to tell me that I have to agree to Rivian’s TOS to continue using the app.

I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of money on EGS… it’s embarrassing because it’s the first time I’ve spent money on a free game. All the games I own on there were free. Which is great, because a few of them I was thinking about getting on sale on steam, but they were the weekly free game on EGS.

So yeah, they got my money, but not for the games…

It’s always interesting when I load up a download, I get seeded at like 20MB/s, but then… There’s nobody to seed to. It’s weird to see a torrent that so many people are seeding, but there’s like no downloads for it nowadays. Usually once it’s no longer popular, seeders disappear, too. Even weirder: it was season 2 of a show (that aired 15 years ago), but season 1 had… One guy. Only online for about 6 hours a day in the middle of the night.

That’s what I was thinking! Mine is over half a TB at this point!
