The major problem here is that you believe in reformism as a valid means of gaining lasting change, while leftists have understood for over a century now that revolutionary means are necessary. You use “the party” in place of the democrats, presumably, but the video above isn’t from the Democrats, or even the DSA: it’s from the Party for Socialism and Liberation, a Marxist-Leninist party in the US. Like the vast majority of Marxists, the PSL seeks revolutionary means to establish socialism, because they understand that the capitalist state apparatus cannot allow socialism to be peacefully implemented via reform.
This is where Democrats get confused, their party isn’t remotely left, they are somewhere on the political scale between first term trump and second term trump.
