The only question now is are they using AI to generate targets. The answer is likely a war crime of truly epic proportions.
As with most modern weapons, AI was “tested on the battlefield” when they used it to justify bombing Gaza. They set the precedent for using AI to target and destroy a whole city.

The USA pretty much always had a preference for civilian targets as far back as I looked (WW2, especially against Japan).

You know the fire bombing of Tokyo killing over one hundred thousand people in one night. Displacing a million people leaving hundreds of thousand severely burned and just causing general suffering never conceived of for a single act.

You know “Little Boy” atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima killing eighty thousand people instantly. Many more suffered and died from radiation poisoning. Cancer claimed countless more.
