    Why not Lemmy? I think it’s way better than reddit. Unfortunately it lacks enough users. I don’t think starting from scratch will offer a better solution.

      Lemmy is also nerdy as fuck. Half of what is on here is Linux/selfhosting/AI tech bro nonsense. The average person has no interest in niche tech subs.

      It really isnt better than reddit unfortunately. But it depends what you are looking for. If you want to find a replacement for a popular reddit community here, you are out of luck most of the time. But if you are happy with memes, you will like this place. Its chill and relaxed and has humor and no algorithms.

        that’s what makes it better. more communities would be easier to solve than on a brand new platform that doesn’t have any already.

      it may lack the same number of users, that’s true but it means it’s largely bot and wanker free which is nice it may be slower but thats not a bad thing

      I guess because of server costs and stuff like that. I am sure Lemmy currently can’t handle the amount users Reddit has. And without ads there is no income stream of money to handle the costs.
