not always. I remember they cast Caroline Henderson (pretty cool scandinavian singer) to play the role of a historical norwegian viking jarl in the show Vikings, which was a very strange choice. And tbf, that show is especially guilty of depicting the fantasy version of vikings with furs and leather and modern hair cuts and dirt on their faces. I don’t have much respect for that show.

I think Vinland Saga does a much better job with historical accuracy when it comes to depictions of clothes, ships, houses and tools.
