    Pell grants are definitely a problem: they need to be much bigger. They need to grow to regain their initial “purchasing power” over an education

    Slash it by what? My kids got the same $ amount I did, back when I went to college when they were little. For me, it covered tuition and some of the books, for them about 1/10th of the tuition. It’s already slashed.

    Because of the Pell grant I was able to get a degree and a great paying job. I’ve paid far more in taxes than what I received in Pell grants, which probably would not be true if I didn’t have it to help me pay for my degree. It literally pays for itself.
